Dr. Charles Msewe is a native Kenyan who settled in the U.S.A. in 1985 to pursue further education at the graduate level in the fields of theology and psychology. In 1990, he completed his residency in psychotherapy at The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology (formerly Pastoral Counseling and Education Center). Thereby acquiring post-graduate studies equivalent to Doctor of Psychology (Psy. D). After completing studies in the field of family psychology, he became one of the first Texans to be Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT in 1992). And, in 1994 he was certified as Approved Clinical Supervisor which is the highest clinical status by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage & Family Therapists. This allowed him to supervise clinicians seeking licensing. After a few years in private practice, he joined the Dallas County Juvenile Department (located at Henry Wade Justice Center) as Psychological Assistant/Clinical Coordinator, and Graduate Clinical Supervisor for nearby universities. He further pursued studies in Hospital (Medical) Chaplaincy at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (William P. Clements Jr. and Zale Lipshy University Hospitals) in Dallas, Texas. Further, he studied Hospice & Palliative Care Counseling at The School of Chaplaincy under Tonya L. Haynes, Th. D.

In 2015, he opted for an early retirement from the Psychology Division at the Dallas County Juvenile Department and resumed his writing and communication skills. As a result, he has written Thirteen books on spirituality, theology, and psychology.

Public Volunteer Service: In August 2021, he was appointed by the Mayor Pro Tem, Mr. Jeff Bass of District 1 in Garland City as a board member of The Nicholson Memorial Library Systems, and in November 2023, he was awarded the Meritorious Civic Service by the Mayor of Garland City, Mr. LeMay Scott.

He has served in various capacities as a youth minister, Sunday school teacher, college instructor, pastor, psychologist, missionary evangelist, etc. In 1992, he founded the International Family Church in Irving, Texas. On December 15, 2013, he was publicly recognized as the father of the spiritual movement in Dallas-Fort Worth and is credited as one of the first Africans to establish independent spiritual centers in the U.S.A. As a Teacher and Evangelist, he continues to impact society through Go T.E.L.L. (Go Teach. Evangelize. Love. Lead) – an affiliate of Amani International Ministries, Inc.

Before coming to the U.S.A. Dr. Msewe worked as a Bookkeeper (Accountancy), a Sunday School Teacher, and a Youth Leader as well as pioneering two churches in Kenya (Mumias & Muguga Christian Centers). While working for Assemblies of God Literature Center in Nairobi, he took special journalism courses at the then Daystar Communication Institute (Daystar University), and as a result he wrote four tracts: 1. Which Church Saves? 2. Is God’s Money in Your Pocket? 3. Wedding Anniversary. 4. Is God’s Power in Witchcraft?

Dr. Msewe is the founder and president of Amani International Ministries, Inc. in 1995, it was chartered USA as Tax Exempt/non-profit organization under section 501 (c) (3) of Internal Revenue Services.
